Download Data sheetIn the heart of the classified massif of the Clape cru, the Château de Marmorières has been the property of the Woillemont family since 1826. Surrounded by pine forests, scrubland and woods, the twenty grape varieties that make up the vineyard, enjoy a mosaic of mainly clay soils. - limestone on a drop of 100m for 350 hectares. Arranged in a horseshoe facing east and located 7km from the Mediterranean Sea, the Château de Marmorières enjoys an exceptional climate thanks to a very high level of sunshine and a maritime influence which tempers the semi-arid summer heat. The vineyard allows a slow maturation of the berries thanks to the depth of its soils and its full eastern exposure.
The grapes are picked when ripe after tasting the berries depending on the grape variety. The best plots of Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Vermentino are isolated, sorted, destemmed and vinified in stainless steel vats after settling by flotation. In the second third of the alcoholic fermentation, the wines are barreled in French oak barrels of 225l and 500l. The wines are then stirred for two months. Very careful work with a minimum of interventions reveals all the freshness and minerality of this terroir that is Marmorières, renowned for several millennia. A blend is made after 6 months of ageing, barrel to barrel.
The nose is fine and fresh with citrus notes with a slight brioche. The mouth reveals an exceptional freshness with a beautiful minerality, aromas of exotic fruits and citrus ending on a salinity characteristic of the Clape vintage.
To be enjoyed with fish in sauce, salmon cooked on one side and hard cheeses such as Comté. Serving temperature: 12-14°C
