In the heart of the classified massif of the Clape cru, the Château de Marmorières has been the property of the Woillemont family since 1826. Surrounded by pine forests, scrubland and woods, the twenty grape varieties that make up the vineyard, enjoy a mosaic of mainly clay soils. - limestone on a drop of 100m for 350 hectares. Arranged in a horseshoe facing east and located 7km from the Mediterranean Sea, the Château de Marmorières enjoys an exceptional climate thanks to a very high level of sunshine and a maritime influence which tempers the semi-arid summer heat. The vineyard allows a slow maturation of the berries thanks to the depth of its soils and its full eastern exposure.
The grapes are picked when ripe after tasting the berries depending on the grape variety. The best parcels of Grenache Noir and Syrah are isolated, sorted, destemmed and vinified in concrete and stainless steel vats. A very careful work with a minimum of interventions (2 to 3 delestages per tank) allows to reveal all the freshness and the spices of this terroir that is Marmorières, renowned for several millennia.
The nose is fine and fresh with notes of red fruits and peppermint. The mouth reveals an exceptional freshness on silky and melted tannins with aromas of euchalyptus, cloves, blackberry and spices.
To be enjoyed with grilled red meats, black Gascon pork ham and chocolate desserts. Serving: between 16°C and 18°C
