Marmorières has been the property of the Woillemont family since 1826. Surrounded by pine forests, scrubland and woods, the twenty grape varieties that make up the vineyard, enjoy a mosaic of mainly clay-limestone soils on a drop of 100m for 350 hectares. Marmorières benefits from an exceptional climate thanks to a very high level of sunshine and a maritime influence which tempers the semi-arid summer heat. The vineyard allows a slow maturation of the berries thanks to the depth of its soils and its full eastern exposure.
The grapes from our Carignan plots ripen surrounded by 150 hectares of scrubland and are picked when ripe after tasting the berries. The harvest is de-stemmed and sorted. After the alcoholic fermentation, the wine is aged for 8 months in French oak barrels. Very careful work with a minimum of interventions reveals all the freshness and spices of this region, renowned for several millennia.
The nose is fine with spicy notes. The palate reveals pretty red fruits such as raspberry and silky tannins accompanied by oriental spices.
To be enjoyed with spicy dishes, red meats as well as dishes in sauce and chocolate desserts. Serving temperature: 16-18°C
